Bodhrán (Traditional Irish drum)
Unfortunately, there’s a lot of people who just pick up this instrument and bash away at it with no idea how to accompany Irish trad. music (not so fun for those of playing melody instruments at sessions…) People don’t realise how much skill is required to master what appears to be such a basic looking instrument. If anyone is interested in listening to some amazing Bodhran playing check out John Joe Kelly on youtube. You’ll be blown away. :)
